Pageant More than a beauty contest, in fact, the majority of the points earned in the Scholarship Pageant competition for our young women is based on scholastic ability and professional presentation skills. Our pageant winners have become leaders in the community: from teachers to entrepreneur business owners; one of our former pageant winners has even won an Emmy award for her work in television. Our program teaches self confidence and poise, while encouraging our young Latinas to enhance their knowledge base about their cultural background. We currently host a “Miss Puerto Rico of Aurora” for young women to compete for a scholarship to advance their educational and professional goals, and a “Ms/Mrs Puerto Rico of Aurora” for distinguished mothers to compete for a title.
